Peewee A team calls up a new player...
This past summer Matt Stajan of the Calgary Flames spent some time with the Peewee A team during their summer camp in August. Matt worked out with the boys. He also answered questions about what it’s like to be in the NHL and about his time in minor hockey as a Port Credit player.

BACK TO BACK TOURNAMENT WINS
Congratulations to the Port Credit Storm Bantam A team on winning two tournaments within a 30 day period...
On the weekend of Oct. 28 to 30 the team traveled to Detroit to compete in the 1997 AA/A Division of the Motown Cup. The team won the championship by a 2 to 1 score in a shoot out. The shoot out was very exciting in that it involved 15 shots by each team before a winner was declared. Also on this weekend the team attended a Detroit Red Wing’s Game and got to play one of their tournament games at the Joe Louis Arena. It was a great experience for everyone. Than on the weekend of Nov. 25 to 27 the team followed up by winning the Toronto Ice Dog’s Fall Classic to complete the back to back tournament championships. Once again the team won in the finals by a 2 to 1 score in a shoot out. Over the course of these two tournaments the team did not lose a game and posted a record of 7 wins and 2 ties on route to the two Championships. Great effort by all the players and coaches.
