Coaching @ PCHA

All coaches and their staff are responsible for supporting the Port Credit Hockey Association. They are required to attend all Association Coaches Meetings and to fulfill all obligations as required in the Coaches Responsibility Agreement.

All potencial coaches must complete the COACHING APPLICATION and COACHES’ RESPONSIBILITY AGREEMENT and submit them to the PCHA for the next years season.
All new Coaches / volunteers to Port Credit will be required to submit a “police check” or confirmation from the MHL. The PCHA Coaching Committee will make recommendations to the PCHA Executive for approval.

Playoff Practice Ice

How it works - PC contracted ice for reallocation

  • As the hockey season winds down please be aware of the final date of your ice contract. Master Ice Schedule
  • At Port Credit our rule over the years has been once you are eliminated from the playoffs your Port Credit practice ice "reverts back" to the Association to be used by those teams that are still playing. Once you have been eliminated from the playoffs, please let Bill Beaton know and provide your "practice slot time".
  • We will post the ice time here and it will be available to anyone on a "first come first served" basis as long as that team that is still in the playoffs and would like that ice.
  • To request the practice ice, please contact Bill Beaton.  He will confirm the allocation via email to both the recipient and eliminated teams.  The allocation is for the current week only and a new request will have to be made for each week where ice is required.
  • If an eliminated team does not receive an email confirming the ice has been reallocated, then they are allowed to use that ice (you may want to contact Bill to make sure it is still available).

How it works - Contract ice directly from the city

For any team that is still playing where your regular ice contract has expired and you cannot find suitable ice times here, you may book one hour of ice per week with the City. You will have to pay for it up front however Port Credit will reimburse you when your season finishes.  To claim reimbursment scan and forward the City contracts to Bill. Please only send one email with all your contracts; not on a week to week basis.

 

A Team Rules

  • Teams are responsible for thier "second sheet" at Canlan, CIA et al as per the individual contracts and you may sell to "whomever" any ice you don't want.
  •  Port Credit supplied "one hour" of practice ice falls under the PC contracted ice for reallocation rules.
