Port Credit Coaches vs Coaches Game to
benefit the
MHL Play-More Program was a great success!
PCHA's annual
Benefit Game this year raised $6,686.51 for the MHL's program to assist players
unable to participate due to severe financial constraints.
Those who came to find out if their coach could "talk the talk"
and "walk the walk" were treated to an excellent hockey game -
these guys can really play! PCHA President Bill Beaton said, "I take
tremendous pride in thanking all the Board members that helped out last
night at our Charity Coaches game. It was a tremendous success and
"knocked the socks off" ...(those)... in attendance. It was a great game
(other than a little "weakness" in the White team's goaltending); just
walking through the crowd, everyone seemed to be having a great time! It
goes without saying, special thanks to Tommy and Gina for their
leadership in making this a signature event again this year. (photo by

Street Hockey United is looking for unwanted hockey sticks
SHU took hockey to two
schools in Japan last year and as a result
hockey was added to the school’s physical activity curriculum. SHU was
officially invited back to the City of Kariya, Japan to continue the
tour of schools this November, expanding their tour to include schools
in the neighbouring City of Nagoya. SHU took over
five dozen hockey sticks, several dozen street hockey balls and four
complete sets of goalie equipment last year. This year Port Credit Arena
has a collection bin for SHU. If you have unwanted hockey sticks, please
bring them to the arena and support this great cause. Visit SHU on the

Peewee 'A' wins Provincial Championship - April 12th
It was with great
pleasure that PCHA President Bill Beaton announced that our Peewee 'A'
team, coached by Ross McCague, was successful in winning the Provincial
championship played this past weekend at Sturgeon Falls. Bill said
"Congratulations to Ross, his coaching staff, players and parents for a
job well done. Ross will be leaving us this year and we wish him the
best of luck with his future endeavours at 'AA' where we know success
will follow him! This is our 4th Provincial championship with Ross
winning his second (his first at Atom A); we are still the only
Association within the MHL to do so." The Storm lost their 1st
game, 4-3, to the Stouffville Clippers before going undefeated the rest
of the way. The final game was a rematch with the Clippers. This time,
the Storm prevailed 7-3. (Pictures to follow, see the MHL's report -click

unbelievable season as THREE Storm "A" teams represented the MHL at the
